Use of Low Dose of Bupivacaine Spinal Anesthesia for TAVI

Spinal anesthesia with low-dose bupivacaine is a safe and effective option for transfemoral TAVI. It significantly reduced pain, opioid use, and the need for vasoactive drugs compared to sedation (p < 0.005), without increasing complications or hospital stay. Operator satisfaction was higher with spinal anesthesia. A total of 158 patients were included: 67 (42%) in the S-TAVI group and 91 (58%) in the L-TAVI group.
